Imagine this: You’ve just rented a beautiful condo on the beach. You’ve unpacked your clothes, and, not
wanting to wait another minute, you fling on your bathing suit and flip-flops and head to the closet,
where your umbrella and beach chair await.
You check out the umbrella. No problem. You then pull out the chair, and …. arrgh! It’s clearly broken.
Your cheery mood immediately darkens. This is not a premier experience. Not at all.
But this, in fact, was my experience last week when I traveled down to Ponce Inlet to stay in one of my
units so I could hang out with some good friends for a few days. As I stood there surveying the damage, I
imagined the phone call that I likely would have received from an understandably upset renter.
I get that no-one wants to fess up when accidents happen. It’s embarrassing. But honestly, it’s the right
thing to do. And I can help.
I know nothing lasts forever. Chairs collapse, umbrellas get bent, glasses and plates shatter. It happens.
That’s why I have a reserve budget set aside in case I need to replace anything.
Let’s imagine another scenario: It’s happened. Your kid has broken the chair. Ugh. But you do the right
thing and let me know. Moments later, I’ve connected with my best friend, Amazon. I picked a chair
guaranteed to withstand the weight of a steel building. The next day, the new chair – aka: engineering
marvel — arrives at your unit. The kid doesn’t have a chance of breaking this one.
Everyone is happy again – especially me because I’ve been able to make things right so both you and
your fellow future renters can enjoy the premium experience that I’ve promised.
So please, be my eyes and ears at Sandy Beach Vacay and let me know if something has gone
wrong. It will be okay. I promise!
Sandy
PS I wasn’t about to let a smashed-up chair get the best of me. I still had a great time with my friends.
Trying not to sweat the small stuff these days…
